Ciara ft Young Jeezy "Never Ever" Video!

Here's the video for Ciara's next single "Never Ever" which features Young Jeezy. I really enjoy both of them, but this track sounds like a dud at least to me. Some of the tracks I've heard off Ciara's album sound much better than this, so I'm not sure the exact theory behind releasing this ode to being boring and then adding time onto the video with Ciara putting on shoes. If you're going to watch this video, then you probably want it to be over as quickly as possible.

The Pussycat Dolls "Bottle Pop" Video Premiere!

Here's a low quality version of the upcoming release from The Pussycat Dolls entitled "Bottle Pop." The clip is good, but not fantastico so I hope it's enough to help in promotion of this single. The song is one of the more "radio-friendly" tracks from what has proved to be the disastrous Doll Domination. "I Hate This Part" is finally picking up speed here in the US, so maybe this will do well on the heels of it. The Dolls tend to do better with up tempo tracks on radio anyway. The group will also be featured on the upcoming Shopaholic soundtrack with a song originally recorded (but not released) by Rihanna called "Bad Girl." It's fun but not as fun as their song recorded for The City theme.

"That's Not My Name" US Video Premiere!

The Ting Tings have just released another brilliant video for their even more brilliant track "That's Not My Name" for the US audience. The track is one of the ones that launched their careers in the UK and was a smash hit across the pond. I hope American likes it equally! I mean the video does feature sign flippers..who can resist those right!??!! right?!!

Michelle Branch Cover Art!

Here is the Official Cover art for Michelle Branch's new album out soon! She's looking VERY Shannen Doherty isn't she?

Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" Video Premiere!!

The video is finally here for the song already firing up the charts! Check it out below before it's taken off youtube! It remind me of my own life in ways...with throwing things out the window and having near car wrecks! Kelly is looking slimmer than she has in a while and overall it's a fun, but not Earth shattering, video! Enjoy! Holla, Kelly's back!

I love when people murder songs...!!!!!

I've been in a funny mood thanks, in part, to this youtube gem I've uncovered. Please watch this with your speakers turned all the way up and MAKE SURE you get to the end and climax of the song! Make sure to check out her entire catalog of show tunes and pop classics!!!

Bill O'Reilly vs Jessica Alba!

Jalba certainly brings the LOLz in this video! Check her out being all politically charged and media sensitive.....

Michelle Branch "This Way" Live Performance!

A lot of people have been wanting to hear "This Way" in its entirety, but the video is only a sneak peek so far. Well here's a live performance so that you can hear the rest of the track! While this video is pretty low-quality, you can still hear her amazing vocals and how great the track really is. Holla, Michelle's back!

Michelle Branch "This Way" Video Sneak Preview!

Michelle Branch is BACK! She's set to release her third album entitled Everything Comes and Goes with lead single "This Way" up first. It's been years since her last release and yes she had a baby at some point, but her fans have been craving some new music from her. Hopefully, this will be enough to carry her back into the limelight.

The Killers "Spaceman" Video Premiere!!

I love love love love this track. Definitely the right 2nd single choice off Day & Age. I just wish "Human" had more of a chart impact as I love love love love love that song--big difference. Here's the video below. It's exactly the type of indie-looking clip people want to see, so good job expensive video director! Enjoy!

BRIT Award Nominations Revealed!!

The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived!! The BRIT Award nominations have been revealed!! There aren't too many surprises here really, but there is certainly a lot of stiff competition. British Album is really a tough category...though I'm pulling for Duffy or the Ting Tings..but Coldplay and Radiohead certainly have a shot. I would love for Girls Aloud to win British Group, but I hear that's unlikely as basically any of the others are Brit favorites. I think the toughest competition comes in the British Female and International Female categories. I really couldn't predict who will win. The Adele/Duffy choice proves quite difficult in the end with both of them so deserving of the award. I wouldn't think MIA would get the statue (she has a better chance at the Grammys actually) as she hasn't had as much recognition in the UK despite how phenomenal both her albums have been. International female should in no way go to Beyonce for her latest effort, but the other 4 all have a good shot. It comes down to whether sales (Katy Perry/Pink) or freshness and indie cred (Gabriella Cilmi/Santogold) win out in the end. Kanye should absolutely win International Male, but British single will certainly be a surprise that only time can reveal!

The Saturdays on Eurovision: Your Country Needs You!!

The UK (after disasters year after year in Eurovision) has decided to do a talent show in the vein of Idol or the X-Factor to make sure the country has its say about who ends up going to Eurovision. This has disaster written all over it...especially with the group of Karaoke amateurs dug up by the producers. Don't worry there will be more on this later and many laughs to go along with the info. The program's only redeeming factor (other than being hosted by the very funny Graham Norton) is that it featured a performance by The Saturdays! They performed "Up" for some reason instead of their current release issues...but I'm not complaining since it is in my top 10 favorite songs of all time list! The performance was pretty much SPECTACULAR! It actually featured dancers and the girls dancing a bit more than is customary for other UK girl bands. I'd say with this performance they are pretty much ready to being cracking America. Enjoy the performance and the mini interview with Una and Frankie below!

Sugababes Live @ BENISSIMO!!!

My favorite band decided to pop over to Switzerland to perform "Girls" and do a quick interview. I guess if their latest album wasn't such a big hit at home, then it doesn't hurt to hawk it to some of the smaller countries in Europe. I'm glad the girls can keep up their "grin and bear it faces" while singing the same song over and over again. I'm really hopefully their next album will be a mega-hit! Make sure to watch their Swiss interviewer call their album "Catfish and Spotlights" instead of "Catfights and Spotlights"----classic!

VV Brown Take 2!

I recently sung my praises (not literally because I wouldn't want to offend anyone's hearing) of VV Brown and now she has just releases her second video!! The second video is pretty fab and for the song "Leave" which is beyond brilliant. Her music should do well at least in the UK as it is pop music masquerading as indie music. She's like Solange meets Lily Allen or something like that. The video features a better use of a box than THIS.

"Leave!"

Her first video, "Crying Blood"

Michelle Heaton Sings on Celebrity Big Brother!

I finally found the video (sorry for the delay) of Michelle Heaton (Scott-Lee--for bragging rights) singing "Just a Little" from her former glory days in Liberty X. The performance is pretty terrible, except for a few shining moments right before she forgets the lyrics around 1:20 in the performance. At least she looks good in that catsuit, but clearly she needs that black chick from Liberty X singing lead. Sorry I couldn't embed, but check out the link below:

The Saturdays Acoustic on 4!

The Saturdays performed two of their top 10 hits, "Up" and "Issues" acoustically on Channel 4 in the UK. I think these performances really show that they're not just some bubble gum pop band--they actually have some chops to back up their hits--especially Vanessa. However, Una's guitar playing is still fueling rumours that she might be the first to go solo. I don't think we have to worry about that for a while until each of the girls is a household name. "Issues" as a 3rd hit and "Work" to be a surefire one is definitely catapulting them into pop royalty. Enjoy the performances and don't worry their outfits are safe to watch!

Try Some Rudenko!!

Here's a video from a Russian artist named Rudenko. The song is called "Everybody" --and no it is not an Annie Lennox/Britney cover. It's actually quite good, but obviously nothing life-changing. He is apparently also trying to branch out to the UK market. It could be a possible club hit for sure!!

I've finally gotten around to joining Twitter. It's this kind of crazy social networking site that features mini-blog-like posts. Add me!! Odohun13

The Bird and The Bee are BACK!!!

The Bird and The Bee are back with a new single and video entitled "Love Letter to Japan." This is one of their best aka most upbeat tracks and the video is totally fun--especially if you like Japanese culture like I do. I'm glad Blue Note is giving them another chance as their first album was truly amazing, but not terribly commercially successful. At least one of the tracks is featured in the opening of Privileged on the CW. Ch-check it out!!

Lily Allen on Billboard Magazine

Lily has landed the cover of Billboard Magazine with all the hype of her new album coming. She looks stunning and offers some real insights into her life. Check out the full article at Billboard HERE.

#1 Lady Gaga- "Just Dance"--officially now a well-deserved global phenomenon with lots of future hits still to come

#3 Alexandra Burke- "Hallelujah" --is this still around??

#6 The Saturdays - "Issues" -- officially their third big hit!! yes!!

#14 Kanye West - "Heartless" --up from 38 last week--it had better head up up up as it is amazing

#20 Alesha Dixon - "The Boy Does Nothing" -- top 20 for 11 weeks! now THIS is a well deserved hit

#24 Britney Spears - "Circus" --the beginning of the reign of Circus!

#29 Girls Aloud - "The Loving Kind" -- could this be the first Girls Aloud disaster? despite it's quality

#36 Sugababes - "No Can Do" -- will this amazing song be another disaster for them? looks that way :( good thing the new album is in the works!

VV Brown is Amazing--Enough Said!

Christina Milian "Us Against the World" Video Premiere!

We finally have the premiere of "Us Against the World" and it lives up to the quality of the song. The video is gorgeously shot with beautiful sweeping scenes of the desert and Christina could not look more stunning. Every time I hear this song I like it even more. I hope people give it a chance when it comes to radio.

Here's some behind the scenes footage as a bonus!

Teairra Marie ft Pleasure P "Hunt 4 U" Video Premiere!

She's back! Singer of such club jamz as "No Daddy" and "Make Her Feel Good" returns with her new track "Hunt 4 U" and this fabulous new clip. The track is a surprisingly good slow hip hop track and the video is great especially for the shrinking budgets of record releases in the current economic times. I don't know if it will be a hit, but it's definitely good enough for moi!

Kelly Clarkson News!!

Kelly just had released the final cover of her forthcoming album All I Ever Wanted. Not so great, but not terrible either.

Luckily, a 30 second clip of the first release from the album "My Life Would Suck Without You" more than makes up for the lackluster cover art. It's a great pop track in the style of "Since U Been Gone." --Kelly's back!!! Check it out below:

Lady Gaga Does Leno!

Lady Gaga performed her now smash hit "Just Dance" on Leno and she totally killed it! Definitely a much better performance than many times and she really shows off her vocals. Not many artists can dance and sing at once and do it well--but she proves she can. However, her outfit is hideous even for her. The nude tights with the leotard underneath just make it look like she's in need of a bikini way x1000. Otherwise, well done!

Little Boots is #1!!!

BBC News finally revealed the rest of the top 10 for their Sounds of 2009 music buzz poll among journalists. The very talented synth performer, Little Boots has been named #1!!! My main prediction of Lady Gaga came in at #6 but that's still excellent.

Thursday, January 8, 2009

BBC Sounds of 2009!

Friday is the day when the BBC will announce journalists' pick for the best up-and-coming artist for the new year! They revealed the longlist at the end of 08 and have dropped one name each day this week leading up to the #1 on Friday.

Check out the full article HERE.

So far we have:

#5 The Amazing La Roux!
#4 Empire of the Sun
#3 Incredible Florence and the Machine
#2 White Lies
#1 ???????

Who will it be??!? My hope is Lady Gaga, but it could also be Frankmusik or Little Boots.

Mutya Buena on Celebrity Big Brother!

Ex-Sugababe and now solo artist, Mutya Buena, has decided to be a part of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. As one of the celebs' first challenges they have to demonstrate to each other why they re famous. What they don't know is that really the head of household will be putting who he thinks is the least talented up for eviction. This whole video of about half of the celebs performing is really quite entertaining. To just see Mutya's rendition of the AMAZING "Hole in the Head" skip ahead to about 5:40. I've been looking everywhere for the footage of Michelle Heaton (ex-Liberty X) performing, so if anyone has it please be a saint and send it over!!

It's been a day of humour!!

Listen to these voicemails from a clearly deranged, obsessed stalker. This is why one should be careful about giving business cards out--if you're lucky enough to have them, after all. You will laugh s hard--especially if you follow the photos.

Wheel-Of-Fortune!!!!!

You MUST watch this!!!! I nearly died, since after all, I am an elderly person and watch Wheel of Fortune on a daily basis!

Natalie Bassingthwaighte - Someday Soon and Alive- Live!

Here's Australian "sensation" Natalie Bassingthwaighte singing her second solo single "Someday Soon" live in Sydney on New Year's Eve. It's good performance and the track is decent, but just not as great as her first effort "Alive."

Here's the "Alive" performance that's from the same night. Check out that dress--wowser!

Pussycat Dolls take on The Tonight Show!

The Pussycat Dolls performed their rapidly rising single "I Hate this Part" for promotion here in the US on Leno and it was another solid performance! Enjoy!

Their outfits were looking a bit Girlicious, I must say!

OMG!!! Lion Lady is still at it!!!

I told you all about "the lion" facial excercises from the 80s during our New Year's Treat, so I couldn't even believe my good fortune when an infomercial for THIS appeared on my TV tonight! It's the same woman still hawking new products at age 61!! Get your Shapely Secrets Today..I know I will...right after I order my SNUGGIE!!!!

The Return of BJlicious

Hey everyone,
Sorry about the delay in posts, I was at the casino resort Foxwoods for the weekend. I'm back now and post-hack the blog is looking better than ever!! Here are a couple photos from Shrine at the new MGM at Foxwoods! We had a super fun time that may have included my jumping on stage during a performance of "Jungle Boogie" by a random jazz band!!
xx

Here come the...Desperate Housewives!

Much to my delight after watching Desperate Housewives last night there was a new promo featuring the AMAZING Sugababes track "Girls." Since the track was only released in Europe (but enjoyed by others including me elsewhere) it was an added bonus to be featured on the American network ABC!!!

Kelly Clarkson Cover Art!

Kelly Clarkson has just released the cover art to her new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" which is out officially January 19th! The cover is cheeky, but fun and she looks great. I'm excited for this one because she's gone back to her pop (and good) roots. This should be better than the terrible disappointment of My December.

The Saturdays: Artist of the Month!

Congratulations to The Saturdays for being named January's artist of the month on the blog!! Adele and Jessica Mauboy were both close runners-up. The Saturdays are totally deserving as their debut album Chasing Lights is definitely one of the best albums of the year and their new single "Issues" is out (in the UK) on 5th of January!!
Video is once again below:

Here's a youtube gem as a present for the new year! Now go...eat your yum yums!! This lady should DEFINITELY be friends with Brenda Dickson!
