Pussycat Dolls Live at Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards!

The Dolls performed a medley of "Jai Ho" and "When I Grow Up" at the Nick award show Saturday. It's one of their best performances in a while--the updated dance break at the end is sick!

Adele Performing "Make You Feel My Love" on Today!

Here's is the beyond talented Adele being introduced by the beyond crazy Kathy Lee and slightly less crazy Hoda on the Today show. She's performing the Bob Dylan classic (also covered by Garth Brooks) "Make You Feel My Love." It's the only cover on Adele's debut album 19 but it's absolutely beautiful. If you weren't familiar with the song before, you would swear that she wrote it because of the passion she sings it with.

Lily Allen Performing "Not Fair" on Ant and Dec!

Here's Lily singing the infectious "Not Fair" live on Saturday Night Takeaway with Ant and Dec. Great jam and a great performance! It was just a bit weird hearing the missing parts edited for their "inappropriate" nature.

Lily Allen "Not Fair" Music Video Premiere!

Lily has finally released the video from her second single off It's Not Me, It's You called "Not Fair." The song has a great country feel, fun dance beat, and some very naughty (channeling Bruno from DWTS) but amusing lyrics. The Brits did a great job of capturing that retro country-type performance of say Johnny Cash or Patsy Cline...so funny!

Doll Domination 2.0 Cover!

It's official! The Pussycat Dolls are re-releasing their mess of an album Doll Domination retitled 2.0. They're hoping to boost lackluster sales by including hot new tracks "Jai Ho" and "Top Of The World," the theme from the show The City. There are also a few new songs as well including one called "Painted Windows" which sounds like a hot mess. I'm wondering if they're taking songs off the album as it is already a cumbersome 18 tracks with 5 bonus ones! They're putting on hold release of mediocre single "Bottle Pop"--for now at least. Here's the very zexy new cover! Loves it!

Girls Aloud perform "Untouchable" LIVE!

This post is a bit belated, but here is the first performance of Girls Aloud's 3rd and final single off Out of Control entitled "Untouchable." The performance is the radio edit of the song because the album version is 6:45 in length. It really is their "Stairway to Heaven!"--well not anymore. They're performing on the show Dancing on Ice so you can never tell if the audience is clapping for the girls' "amazing" vocal chops or the ice dancers' corny moves. The use of suspension wires (especially in combination with ice dancing movies) is quite powerful. Enjoy!

Enrique Iglesias and Gabriella Cilmi "Takin Back My Love!"

Enrique Iglesias and Gabriella Cilmi perform Enrique's latest single "Takin Back My Love" live! Gabriella Cilmi is singing Ciara's part here, which has also been re-recorded for European release with Sarah Connor from Germany. I wonder if Ciara or Gabriella will make it onto the UK release? It's a very different song for Gabriella to be singing, but she sounds great on pretty much anything! This song definitely has the potential to be a hit in Europe, but it's unlikely here in the US.

BoA Performs "I Did It For Love" LIVE!

Here's Korean pop-star BoA performs her 2nd English single Live in Hollywood. This girl can dance!!! She really is like the Korean Britney with a few cornrows. I really hope this US crossover goes well. I can't wait for the full album to be out March 17th!!!

The Saturdays "Work" LIVE on Saturday Night Takeaway!

The Saturdays performed their smashing new single "Work" which deserves to be #1 for a zillion weeks in a row on every country's chart. It was the first live performance of the track and it was simply off the chain! Mollie had a rough note at the beginning (putting that mildly) but Vanessa made up for it with her perfect closing note. The girls all looked great, especially all the volume in Mollie's hair, though I can't say that Una's hair looked anything better than disheveled. Better luck with that next time Una--at least you can play guitar!

The Saturdays LIVE at Comic Relief!

Here are The Saturdays performing their charity single "Just Can't Get Enough" at the album chart show! They've been promoting it like crazy, though last week it only debuted at #2 being bested by Flo Rida. Maybe sales will pick up this week? If I were to guess this is the first time the girls have sung this actually live. It has a very different sound than their other performances that were most likely lipsynched aka mimed. I just can't get enough of this song!!! If you're like me, then here's your daily dose.

The Ting Tings LIVE at Comic Relief!

The Ting Tings performed "That's Not My Name" for the Comic Relief charity event in the UK. It remains one of my favorite songs in ages, so I definitely didn't mind hearing it once more time. I was a bit surprised they didn't perform something else from their brilliant album since "That's Not My Name" was already a big hit in the UK and this could have been a big opportunity to gain another. I guess they still have strong album sales and are just giving the fans what they want to hear! I hope this jam will be as big of a hit here in The States!

Pussycat Dolls Jai Ho Video Premiere!!

Finally!!!! It's the video we've ALL been waiting for! The Pussycat Dolls have just premiered their new video for the English version of Jai Ho from the Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. The Dolls certainly know how to turn out a video with their impeccable dance moves and rockin' bods. I'm amazed they braved the cold Vienna snow in those outfits! I'm glad they incorporated the Indian culture and the Bollywood style of dance into the video, it really adds to it. The song is already blowing up on radio and I think it will be here for quite a while!

Britney Spears "If U Seek Amy" Official Video!

Here's a video that doesn't make much sense for a song that doesn't make much sense...birds of a feather, eh? I mean at least Britney looks good and dances (ie writhes) a bit. The song has somewhat of a storyline, so I figured they might follow that, but no, no story in this just nonsense. I mean, hey, at least it's not the vid for "Gimme More!" However, this one features a much worse pair of shoes.

Jessica Mauboy " Been Waiting" Official Video!!

One of my favorite artists of 08 is still keeping the hits coming in 09 with her 3rd single "Been Waiting!" Every track on her album also titled Been Waiting is exquisite and this is no exception. It's a fun video, with some great flowing outfits and Jessica certainly is looking more and more like a pop star each and every day. I just wish I could have been one of those beach walking extras in the video..o well..maybe if I move to Sydney? I just REALLY hope they release this album here in the US so more people can enjoy it the way I do daily!

Kelly Clarkson "All I Ever Wanted" Album Review!!!!!!

Who is Kelly Clarkson? That sounds like an easy enough question to answer. "She's the multi-platinum selling winner of the first season of American Idol" you might answer. Who is Kelly Clarkson as an artist? That's a bit more difficult of a question to answer. Is she the R&B crooner we heard off her initial American Idol album? Is she pop perfection a la Miss Independent? Is she a pop-rocker in the style of the generation-defining "Since U Been Gone?" Or is she something darker in the style of much ridiculed album My December? Well if you're a fan of any of these reinventions of Kelly, then there's something for you on her latest album All I Ever Wanted.

All I Ever Wanted is Kelly's "comeback" album after her last piece of rebellion against Clive Davis entitled My December. Most people either didn't know this album existed or have decided to block it out of their memories due to the pain it caused their eardrums. It seems Kelly has come to her senses and decided to work with nearly all of today's top songwriters and producers on this latest project including: Max Martin and Dr. Luke, Kara DioGuardi, Katy Perry, Ryan Tedder, and Howard Benson. The result is a very diverse album with loads of potential hits. What's lacking is a sense of unity among the tracks on the album. With so many styles to choose from there really is something for everyone, but on the flip-side chances are that at least one or two tracks will leave the listener cold. It's also fair to guess that Kelly as an artist is not all of these styles and leads the listener to feel that some of the tracks are inauthentic--but which? Is pop Kelly the fake or is angry Kelly really just an act?

The biggest strength on the album is really its production quality. Most of the tracks are incredibly produced and mixed (as they should be from the industry's top professionals.) There are so many layers and complexities to each track that you'll discover something new each time. Tracks like powerful, synth-heavy "If I Can't Have You" and Kelly's favorite track "All I Ever Wanted" will give you a lot each and every listen. Of course the first two singles, chart-topper "My Life Would Suck Without You" and anthemic "I Do Not Hook Up", are off the charts in terms of pop records. Other than these, perhaps the best track on the album is "Long Shot." The verses here are incredibly interesting both melodically, as well as lyrically. The chorus is a bit predictable but really ties the complex verses together into a stunning, tight little pop package. Perhaps best from the mid-tempo tracks is "Already Gone" which is quite different for Kelly and sounds more like a song Beyonce would have been all over. This similarity also might be because the track starts off almost identically to the Beyonce single "Halo." The best ballad (of the two true ones) is "If No One Will Listen" which has some very moving parts (definitely this record's "Because of You" ) and rightfully so ends the album. "Cry" which is certainly placed in typical 3rd single position being track 3 is just not as moving or sincere as the closing ballad. Kelly's been quoted as saying that this album really showcases her voice and what she sounds like live. I would completely agree that these tracks really capture her voice as it sounds in a live performance and that that's certainly a good thing. You can't deny her chops--she's one hell of a singer.

While Kelly's Breakaway album shone brightly in the lyrics department, this current one is more about production. There are definitely some interesting lyrical moments, but for the most part it's not as deep or as though-provoking. I'll never forget the first time I heard Kelly sing "what do you when you look in the mirror and staring at you is why he's not here" on a track from Breakaway. There are fewer of these make-you-think moments here. Here we get "Whyyawannabringmedown" which at first is catchy, but then reminds you of the My December era and quickly makes you want to turn it off. The end of the album takes a fun turn and gets a bit retro in the tracks "Ready" and and "I Want You" which has a Duffy-esque quality about it. In "Ready" Ms. Clarkson belts "I sit here so patiently drenched in what you want me to be" and this seems to sum up this album. All I Ever Wanted is what the fans want from her, but is it what she wants from herself?

I-866-IDOLS-13 yields some very intersting results!

With the addition of a 13th contestant to the American Idol group this year, obviously someone should check that they have a 13th phone line available to take votes for them. That number should be 1-866-IDOLS-13, however, that number is registered as a sex phone line. Click HERE to hear Ryan Seacrest discuss the problem with an Idol producer as well as the president over at Fox. You'll also get to hear about Ryan's true fantasy of "hot horny girls"--as if! This is all payback for not making Tatiana Del Toro (the most amusing thing to happen to Idol in years) not the 13th contestant!!

Sugababes NOT Splitting Up!!!

There was an article posted on News of the World that claimed after low album sales from Catfights and Spotlights the Sugababes were going to split up. I nearly had a heartache (and not from lack of exercise either) because this would be an absolute travesty for my personal universe as well as the pop world. Luckily, the girls have come forward and said "it's complete rubbish that the Sugababes are splitting up." They are actually headed to America (hopefully NYC so I can run into them, but I fear they'll be in Atlanta with Dallas Austin again) and are also going to be mentors on the Holland version of The X Factor. Good luck girls--we want a new album out this year!!

Wes Carr "Feels Like Woah" Video Premiere!!

Australian Idol winner, Wes Carr, is back with this follow-up single to "You" entitled "Feels like Woah." I think he's starting to get more into the artist he truly is aka he sucks.

The Hollywood Reporter interviews BoA

Here's a quick interview with Korean pop sensation BoA about her crossover here to the US. Enjoy her broken English! Love her music!!

"I Do Not Hook Up" Single Official Cover!

Here's the cover to my anthem and Kelly Clarkson's second single off her latest album. "I Do Not Hook Up" is by far the catchiest track on the album so I'm sure it will be a mega-huge! It's a cute pic of Kelly, granted her hair obscures most of her face. It's actually a photo from inside the booklet for All I Ever Wanted, but in these economic times, that's totally acceptable. Nothing will ever be more reused that Britney's Blackout cover pic--ever--so we're okay here.

Electrik Red release "So Good" Video!!

Electrik Red, the new girl group signed to Def Jam that I wrote about recently, has just released a new video for a new track called "So Good." It's quite a good slow to midtempo R&B jam. I would like to listen to this while on a sailboat relaxing. It's quite a good video for being low-budget.
Things you will see in the video:

1. Rainbow Brite mating with an arachnid
2. Paint splattered dresses
3. pilates and/or handcuff escape
4. a non-blind version of "blind-folded musical chairs" courtesy of the Ellen show

=hawtnesss

Calvin Harris "I'm Not Alone" Official Video!

Scottish music artist Calvin Harris (also one of the most feverish twitters out there) has just released the video for his comeback single "I'm Not Alone." According to his twitter "all my videos are a bit odd. this one pisses all over the other ones though by far." It's definitely strange, but that tends to be the standard for techno videos. Other conventions for the genre would be the semi-hott girls wearing somewhat leotardesque costumes doing slightly robotic dancing and a general sense of insanity. It's a hott dance track once it gets going, so give it view!

"The Fear" Live on So You Think You Can Dance Australia!

Here's Lily Allen performing "The Fear" which is still as stunning as the first time I heard it back in 08. She performed it on her promo tour after hitting The UK, The US and Japan ;she finally went down under to Australia. The performance is much more theatrical than the other performances we've seen so far. It follows the concept of the music video closely with the balloons, man -servants and dancing. The audience releasing balloons is the end of the performance is a very cool effect indeed! Her album It's Not Me, It's You premiered at #1 on the Australian ARIA charts and currently sits at #2 in its second week.

Gaga does "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" Live!

Here's Lady Gaga or as I like to call her, Laga, performing one of my fave tracks from her album The Fame, LIVE for MTV UK. I actually like parts of the live performance more than the recording exclusing her growl of "but we've got no money" and her alaramed exclamation of "dirty rich!" Sorry for the poor quality--blame MTV.

It Was a Good Night for Late Late Night TV!

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon (why are all the late late hosts named Jimmy???) were a pair of amazing musical guests. Jimmy Fallon, who judging by this introduction really needs to work on his hosting skills, had on the goddess that is Santogold. She performed "Shove It," one of the finest tracks from her breakout album Santogold.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel had Robyn perform the acoustic version of her track "Be Mine" and she sounded just as good as when I saw her live last year in New York. "Be Mine" is one of those rare songs that sounds great slowed down and acoustic as well as upbeat and dancey like the original track.

What we can learn from all this....at least one of these shows needs to have MIA on to perform the infectious track "Jimmy."

Pixie Lott is Hott!!

Pixie Lott is yet another amazing artist hailing from my favourite country, The UK. She's signed a record deal with Mercury and will be releasing her first album this summer. The first single is going to be "Mama Do" apparently. Check out some of her tunes on mypspace at:
www.myspace.com/pixiesongs
Make sure to listen to "Turn It Up" and "Here We Go Again" which are my personal faves from the tracks she has available. I'm really grooving to her sound, but also think she's quite pretty and blonde which is just the icing on the cake! I think we will see a lot from this chica! Enjoy!!

"Rain on Your Parade" live on Wetten, dass...?

The one and only Duffy performing "Rain on Your Parade" from the re-release of Rockferry. This is a GREAT performance. I'm really shocked she didn't perform this at the BRITs since it never was the mega hit it deserved to be--despite selling about a billion albums in the UK. Hopefully, she will extend her reign as queen on the European continent!

Electrik Red!!

I've been meaning to write about Electrik Red for a while now and today they released a new video so it seems like the perfect time. They're a new 4 piece girl group signed to Def Jam Recordings and have some really great tracks so far. They haven't taken off the way most Def Jam artists have, but hopefully they will in time! Their 2nd and newest video is for "Friend Lover" which is a fun mix between pop and hip hop. The video is very chocolate Stepford wives, so ch-check it out! I don't know about their performance outfits though...as Brenda Dickson would say "it's just a plain pants suit!"

Their first track is much more urban but equally as catchy. The toilet cubicle dancing reminds me a lot of the Sugababes video for "Easy" off their greatest hits. Enjoy "Drank in my Cup!!!" View it HERE.

Making the Video of "Jai Ho" by the Pussycat Dolls!

The Pussycat Dolls have caught Slumdog Millionaire fever just like the rest of the world! They've recorded an English version of the track "Jai Ho" from the Slumdog soundtrack and it is faboo! It uses the same track as the original, but features new English lyrics which equals hawtness. Here's the behind the scenes video while shooting the music vid in a train station in Vienna. Even if you don't like the Dolls, it's definitely worth it to watch just to see how awful and tired Robin Antin looks!

"How Do You Sleep" Video Remix!

I already posted the older video from Jesse McCartney for his 3rd single "How Do You Sleep" but now that it's being re-released as a remix with Ludacris, there's a new video! The last was low budget and featured tour footage--this one is much better quality. I still love the song and hopefully with the new remix it was will fare better than single #2 "It's Over" since that was over before it even started. Despite being a well shot and clever video, it actually terrifies me! I'm terribly afraid of driving and and car crashes and the driving (or lack thereof) sequences that make up this video give me the chills!
